Why I’ve never sought out Lyle Lovett’s “Penguins” video before is beyond me. I love this.
Somewhere between 3 Rounds and a Sound and this album, Blind Pilot discovered drums. And is that the ’80s I hear in the chorus?
I’m not sure if that album title is English, and I don’t know how to make that character in their name, but I do like the singer’s “elfin coo”.
This is exactly as cool as you’d expect it to be.
I’ve already done my TV and movies lists, so music is the obvious one I’m missing.
Songs and albums are mixed in together. (A lot of songs this year — I think that reflects not so much what was available as the fact that I downloaded a lot more free singles than I usually do.) No order.
If I haven’t listed your favorite album, it’s probably because I didn’t hear it.
Dumbfoundead - Are We There Yet
With his new album out, it’s easy to see how far Dumbfoundead has come since his humble hip-hop beginnings. From working his way up the unforgiving freestyle food chain to making outstanding music like this. I’m going to write an in-depth review of his new album, so make sure to check that out.
My Song Rating: 9.7 out of 10
I’ve posted this before, but I still like it. Plus, how many rap videos are shot in my neighborhood?
Maffew Ragazino & Action Bronson, Jordan vs. Bird. Haven’t felt inspired by much of the music I’m listening to tonight, but I like this one.
Gaby Moreno, “Mess a Good Thing.” There are other videos of this song on the internet, actual moving pictures instead of slideshows, but they don’t have the horns. Moreno’s voice can carry the song, but I like horns.
The High Strung, “Maybe You’re Coming Down With It” — this is a live-in-studio version. It’s catchy.
